Peer Review Policy
Publication Model
JACSI operates a dual-track publication model:
Bulletin (Active)
Bulletin entries are curated by the Editor-in-Chief. They undergo editorial review for scientific accuracy, relevance, and clarity. Bulletin entries include technical notes, commentaries, field reports, and preliminary research findings. Bulletin content is clearly labelled as editorially reviewed, not peer-reviewed.
Research Articles (Planned)
JACSI is building toward a transparent Human+AI Open Peer Review process for its Research Articles track. This track will launch once an external reviewer pool is established. Research Articles will undergo review by at least one independent external reviewer alongside AI-assisted editorial analysis. All reviews will be published openly alongside accepted articles.
The current publication status of each track is indicated on the journal homepage and in each article's metadata.
Editorial Standards
All content published in JACSI, regardless of track, must meet the following minimum standards:
- Scientific accuracy and technical correctness
- Relevance to JACSI's scope (cryptanalysis, PQC, system integrity, digital forensics, maritime infosec)
- Clear and professional presentation
- Proper attribution and citation of prior work
- Compliance with research ethics standards
Conflicts of Interest
The Editor-in-Chief discloses any conflicts of interest for articles where they are also an author. For such articles, editorial decisions are documented transparently. See our Conflict of Interest Policy for details.
